Last night I was in a very thought-provoking conversation with my girlfriend, Mila. We touched on just about everything from identity, race, gender, and of course, writing! I expressed how I’ve was inclined to write more and keep my creative juices flowing when she shared an insightful idea.

“How about when you wake up every morning, you write three pages of unfiltered stream of conscious thoughts! And just like that, I knew we were on to something.

It’s a party; it’s a party, it’s a party, aye!

In celebration of En Color’s launch, I introduce to you, Food For Thought — our first column dedicated to inspiring and stimulating our minds with creative activities that invite joy and challenge us to step outside of our comfort zone.

I like to think the more we can free our minds of clutter and negativity and feed ourselves with positive thoughts and healthy practices, the better equipped we will be to elevate our lives and seek new opportunities. Let’s uplift each other to dream bigger and strive to move forward as we continue our marathon.

Instead of worrying about what we cannot control, we can shift our energy to what we can create — now that’s food for thought!

If you’re like me and want to improve your writing skills or commit to a new and thrilling practice, I encourage you to join the writing wave — the more collective energy, the better! It doesn’t hurt to try, and the good thing is you’re not alone.

Let’s affirm: This month, I’m encouraging myself to show up with pen to paper. Each morning I will commit to writing 3–4 pages of unfiltered stream of conscious thoughts before I begin my day. I will extend myself grace and let my thoughts flow, not giving mind to how I am writing or what I am writing but rather acknowledging the release of thought as a healthy and mindful practice.

Now let’s toast to a new and exhilarating month full of limitless possibilities and joy. Who knows what amazing revelations will come out of this! In the name of self-love, we deserve to allow ourselves to inspire, explore, and stimulate our minds, bodies, and spirits. It’s the least we can do.

Here’s to our journey ahead.

With Love,

Tatiana 🤍

En Color stans for collective empowerment! Leave a comment and share any motivational activities, hobbies, and practices we can join in on this month.
